Saba and St. Kitts are two neighboring islands in the northeastern Caribbean, part of the Lesser Antilles, offering some of the most pristine and least crowded diving in the region. Known for dramatic underwater topography, volcanic formations, and healthy coral ecosystems, these islands are a favorite among divers looking for high-quality Caribbean diving away from mass tourism.

Diving in Saba and St. Kitts is characterized by steep walls, pinnacles, lava flows, and deep reefs teeming with marine life. Currents are generally mild to moderate, making the area suitable for divers with basic to intermediate experience, while more exposed sites can offer exciting drift dives for advanced divers. Visibility is excellent year-round, often exceeding 25–30 meters.

The region enjoys a tropical climate with warm air temperatures averaging between 26 and 30°C throughout the year. Water temperatures range from around 26°C (79°F) in winter to 29°C (84°F) in summer. Diving conditions are excellent year-round, with the best conditions typically from November to June, when seas are calmer and visibility is at its best.

Saba is particularly renowned for its marine park, which protects the entire coastline of the island and ensures outstanding reef health. St. Kitts complements this with a mix of reefs, wrecks, and sandy sites, offering excellent biodiversity and relaxed diving conditions. Together, these islands provide a varied and rewarding liveaboard diving experience.

Liveaboard Diving Regions :

Saba Marine Park
Saba Marine Park surrounds the island and protects a series of world-class dive sites featuring sheer walls, underwater pinnacles, and volcanic formations. Walls often begin at shallow depths of 15–20 meters before dropping dramatically into the deep blue. Divers can encounter reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, schooling fish, sponges, and vibrant hard and soft corals. Macro lovers will also enjoy seahorses, frogfish, and nudibranchs. Diving is excellent year-round, with consistently clear water and minimal human impact.

St. Kitts Reefs & Wrecks
Diving around St. Kitts offers a mix of healthy coral reefs, sandy slopes, lava flows, and historic shipwrecks. These sites are generally calmer and suitable for divers of all experience levels. Common sightings include turtles, stingrays, lobsters, reef sharks, and large schools of tropical fish. Wreck dives provide added interest, with artificial reefs now home to abundant marine life.

St. Eustatius (Statia)
Often included on Saba & St. Kitts liveaboard itineraries, St. Eustatius offers some of the Caribbean’s best wreck diving. Over a dozen well-preserved wrecks lie at varying depths, many dating back to the island’s historic trading era. These wrecks are now covered in corals and sponges and attract turtles, reef sharks, barracuda, and schooling fish. Statia also features volcanic reef dives with excellent visibility and minimal currents.
