The Central Maldives composed of multiple atolls including North Male, South Male, North Ari, South Ari, Vaavu, and Rasdhoo. Renowned for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and incredible diversity of marine life, the Maldives offers some of the most exciting diving in the world. Central Maldives combines thriving coral gardens with dramatic overhangs, channels, and occasional strong currents that attract large pelagic species, making it a perfect destination for both reef enthusiasts and thrill-seeking divers.

Water temperatures in the Central Maldives are consistently warm, ranging from 27–30°C (81–86°F), with air temperatures around 28–32°C (82–90°F) year-round. Visibility is generally excellent, often exceeding 30 meters, though it can vary during the rainy season. The diving season is best from December to May, during the dry northeast monsoon, when seas are calm, currents are predictable, and marine life is abundant. The southwest monsoon from June to November can bring stronger currents, but also nutrient-rich waters, attracting large schools of fish, manta rays, and whale sharks.

Divers in the Central Maldives can expect a variety of experiences, from gentle drift dives along coral slopes to exciting channel dives with sharks, rays, and large pelagic fish. House reefs of local islands offer excellent snorkel and beginner diving, while liveaboard trips explore the more remote sites with dramatic overhangs, caves, and channels teeming with life.
