Description

Boat

Maldives Grandezza is a 37 metres long double masted yacht with a beam of 8.5m, built in 2009, with a steel structure and is equipped with 2 powerful engines and 2 masts with 4 sails that allow to 13 knots of speed.

Maldives Grandezza has all the safety requirements that allowed it to be classified by the Italian Registration Body (RINA) and is an Ocean going vessel able to circumnavigate the Globe. It is equipped with the most modern navigation devices like Radar, 2 GPS, eco sounder, SSB, VHF, satellite communication system etc.

Maldives Grandezza features a beautiful spacious air conditioned salon with a TV/DVD, a photo editing computer, a stereo player and a bar. The indoor dining area and galley is adjacent to the salon, there is also an outdoor dining area. In the stern there is’ an outdoor area, covered with a large sofa and a table for photos and video amateur divers and an area for recharging equipment photos and videos.

In the upper deck there is spacious and comfortable sundeck with a removable sun protection, chaises lounges and chairs deck.

Maldives Grandezza will take you exploring through waters of azure lagoons, coral gardens bustling with multi colored marine life, snow white sandy beaches circling lush green patches of islands, caressing cool breezes of the Indian Ocean, breath taking sun sets, moonlit silvery nights and the serenity as a whole that would re-awaken the mind and soul.


Cabin

Maldives Grandezza has 10 comfortable guest cabins, it can sleeps up to 20 guests per trip.

All cabins individually controlled air conditioning and an en suite private bathroom.

6 Deluxe Cabins:
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes one double bed (lower) and one single bed (upper) in bunk-style, portholes.

2 Standard Cabins:
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two single bunk beds, portholes.

2 Value Twin Cabins:
Located on the lower deck, this cabin type is smaller than the other cabins, each cabin comes with two single bunk beds, portholes.


Diving

  • 17 dives per week, include 1 night, depends on conditions.
  • Only 2 dives will be provided on the day before departure.

The Central Atolls itinerary takes you on a 7 day dive safari around some of the highlights of the underwater paradise that is the Maldives. You will spend your time travelling and diving around the North and South Male Atolls, Ari Atolls, Vaavu Atoll, and more.

Central Maldives

Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.

About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

North Maldives

Best time for diving
June to November, North Maldives offers great diving all year, especially in the Far North Atolls, you can expect sunny skies most of the year. And in Hanifaru Bay, each year during June to November is the famous cyclone feeding, which is a rare and spectacular event where over 100 manta rays can feed together and create a chain which the head of each manta ray touches the tail of the manta in front. This creates a huge spiral of up to 200 mantas along with their fellow plankton feeders the Whale Shark.

Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement

December to April offers the best visibility and sea conditions. Although short spells of heavy rainfall can be experienced during the summer months, but this region do offer good diving all year round.

Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

Most of the embarkation / disembarkation for South Maldives cruise (Meemu atoll, Thaa atoll, Felidhoo atoll) will be in Malé, guests need to fly in/out to Velana International Airport (MLE).

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.
