Description

Boat

Maldives Blue Force 3 is a premium ship measuring 42 meters long, 8.7 meters wide, with cruising speed at 12 knots per hour. It was built in 2018 and operated in the Egyptian Red Sea till Dec 2022, then it relocated to Maldives since then.

Elegant, comfortable, and functional. Onboard you will find everything you need to enjoy a great diving experience in the waters of the Maldives. Long navigation times, incredible wild coral reefs, and a lot of underwater life in very special routes that every diver must have on their bucket list. This is why we decided to build our own steel boat.

The main deck common areas include the dining room, salon, and bar, and the dive deck area that features ample area for individual gear storage and camera preparation tables.

Outside, there is a common area with two wide solariums in bow and stern as well as a bar. The upper deck and sun deck offer covered and open sun decks with comfortable chaise lounge chairs.

Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room and snacks are provided throughout the day.

The dive will take place from the Dhoni, an 23‐metre‐long boat where the air compressors, nitrox membrane and dive equipment are stored. The dive equipment is stored in the dhoni all the week, the tank is refilled after every dive. The Dhoni is completely independent from the boat, so thanks to its maneuverability it is quite easy to access to the dive spots and the divers’ collection is more comfortable. And it keeps the noise of the compressors away from onboard guests and humidity equipment will never be a problem anymore.

Maldives Blue Force 3 is also Rebreather friendly liveaboard, guest who wish to dive Rebreather, just need to pay for an reasonable additional fee.

Itineraries

Central Atolls Classical route

Start/Finish: Male - Male
Itinerary: North Male Atoll, South Male Atoll, Vaavu, and Ari.

Central Atolls Classical route is our weekly usual route and we do almost all year long from August to January and April and May. This is the best well-known route in the Maldives but at the same time the one that offers the best and most varied dives. Thanks to that, we know every detail of the central atolls, channels, thilas, and where and when it is convenient to approach every dive zone. It is a 7-night route including 6-dive days on board with embark and disembark at Male Airport (18 dives with 2-night dives).

MANTA EXPEDITION

Start/Finish: Male - Male
Itinerary: North Male Atoll, Ari Atoll, Rasdoo Atoll, Baa Atoll (Hanifaru Bay)

Maldives Blue Force 3 will visit the Baa Atoll and Hanifaru Bay on a special 8-day cruise on September like every year to make MANTA EXPEDITION route. After a first diving day in North Male where we look for a Manta cleaning station, we will sail northbound to the Baa Atoll & Hanifaru Bay. On this atoll we will try to enjoy snorkeling with mantas in the Hanifaru Bay, Biosphere Reserve.

SOUTH HEMISPHERE ROUTE 1

Week 1: Male - Kooddoo
Week 3: Kooddoo – Male
Itinerary: North Male, South Male, Vaavu, Meemu, Thaa, Laamu & Gaafu.

Day 1 Saturday: MALE AIRPORT – Arrival to MALE atoll- Cruise South Hemisphere (down): Arrival at Male airport. Inmigration procedures. Luggage collecting. Transfer in dhoni to MALDIVES BLUE FORCE ONE. Assignment of cabins, briefing about the boat, diving, itinerary … and beginning of the cruise.

Day 2 to 7 Sunday to Friday: Diving in Laamu, Gaafu, Foamulah, and Addu. 3 dives each day, with 1 or 2 night dives a week. Depending on the diving conditions, the number of daily dives could be modified, guaranteeing a total of 18 dives per week. Visits to islands in the afternoon (if there is no scheduled night dive). After dinner various activities in common or simply relax onboard, games, movies, karaoke, jacuzzi.

8th Saturday: Kooddoo. During the morning disembark and domestic flight to Male (Schedule to be determined).

Going 2 weeks consecutively is highly recommended. We call this option SOUTH HEMISPHERE FULL EXPEDITION ROUTE. From Male in the central atolls to Fuvahmulah, in the Deep South of Maldives or vice versa. Departing from Fuvahmulah up to Male. It offers an exceptional and full Liveaboard experience for 2 weeks.

SOUTH HEMISPHERE ROUTE 2

Start/Finish: Kooddoo - Kooddoo
Itinerary: Gaafu & Fuvahmulah

GAAFU: The second biggest atoll in the world is famous for the high shark concentration, especially the grey reef shark. But many surprises such as the great hammerhead, silver tip or tiger sharks may arise, as well as the whale shark in presence of plankton. The almost virgin coral areas are also remarkable. Nights among green turtles, parsnips or the presence of a fish only sighted in the South, the lime harlequin fish that lives in schools among corals.

FUVAHMULAH: If weather permits, as there is no protection reef, we will approach this unique island - about 5 km2 - and will dive the reef near the great blue, where we can spot schools of jacks, mantas, lots of silver tip sharks, humphead wrasse and always the chance to spot “specials”, the elusive thresher sharks, tiger sharks, great hammerheads, marlins, humphead parrotfish …

THE BEST OF THE MALDIVES (10 & 11 NIGHTS)

Start/Finish: Male/Gaafu - Gaafu/Male
Itinerary: Fuvahmulah, Gaafu, Laamu, Thaa, Meemu, Vaavu and Ari

This route is exceptional and for the most part, off of the normal path that most live aboards follow. Besides the extended amount of days on board from 7 to 10 or 11, with the obvious increment of dives we will be making, what is most amazing is the quality of the sites we will be allowed to reach. The amount of life we will be able to observe: large schools of jacks, schools of grey sharks, silky sharks, whale sharks at night sometimes in the day as well, mantas, tiger sharks, silver tip sharks, Marlins and even the occasional and elusive Oceanic Sun Fish (mola mola). As well as the quality and exuberance of the coral reefs around here, the thilas with their spectacular reefs and the nurse sharks from Alimatha, really make this route the BEST OF THE MALDIVES.
