Boat

Okeanos Aggressor II is a 36.5 metres long and 8.2 meters wide professional steel dive yacht, Like all Aggressor Fleet's yacht, it was built and maintained to Lloyd’s Registry and American Bureau of Shipping Standards. It is diesel-powered, cruise at 10 knots and has110-volt power on board

Okeanos Aggressor II has a spacious salon, covered and uncovered sun deck area, chaise lounges, deck chairs, bar, grill, and a complete photo center. The onboard video format is both NTSC and PAL.

The chefs onboard will offer guests delicious meals in various styles of American feasts, barbecues and local cuisine. From appetizer to dessert all with love. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let our booking agents know, so we can put an note for you.

The onboard beverages selection includes fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, coffee, and a limited selection of local beer and wine, which are complimentary. Due to the high duty charged on liquor, we suggest you bring your special brand from the last duty free point. Once you consume alcohol, you become a snorkeler until the next day.

Okeanos Aggressor II's dive deck is spacious and well equipped with personal dive lockers, a camera table with low pressure air hose, two rinse tanks are conveniently located for washing dive equipment and cameras. The aft of the dive deck is equipped with two ladders exit, fin storage and two hot, fresh water showers.


Cabin

Okeanos Aggressor II has 12 comfortable staterooms, it can accommodate up to 22 guests :

All cabins have ensuite bathroom, hair dryer, AC control, closet, mirrored cabinet.

1 Master Suite (#2) :
Located on the upper deck, this large luxurious suite featuring 2 twin beds (fixed), bamboo wood flooring, a 42 inch flat screen monitor with media player, private minibar/refrigerator, granite side table for private in-cabin dining, wood paneling, upholstered headboard, large bathroom with travertine floors, and separate glass enclosures for toilet and showers, picture windows.

1 Master Suite (#11) :
Located on the upper deck, this large luxurious suite featuring a king bed, bamboo wood flooring, a 42 inch flat screen monitor with media player, private minibar/refrigerator, granite side table for private in-cabin dining, wood paneling, upholstered headboard, large bathroom with travertine floors, and separate glass enclosures for toilet and showers, picture windows.

1 Master Stateroom (#1):
Located on the mian deck, featuring a queen size bed, monitor with media player, mirrored cabinet, full length mirror, wardrobe.

8 Deluxe Stateroom (# 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10):
Located on the lower deck, each cabin featuring a double bed (lower) and single bed (upper) in bunk-style.


Diving

  • 3 - 4 dives per day, an average of 21 dives per trip.
  • 1 Check dive will be provided on the embarkation day.
  • All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.
  • Divers must have AOW level with at least 50 logged dives.
  • Most divers use a 5mm wetsuit with booties and a hood.

Itineraries

Cocos Island

Cocos Island National Park was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997. Weather permitting, all guests are shuttled ashore to hike through the jungles of Cocos and swim in her many waterfalls. All ten-day trips offer seven days of Costa Rica liveaboard scuba diving.


10 night Charter Sample Itinerary

Day 1 : Meet in front of host hotel. Transfer to Puntarenas for boarding/departure.
Day 2 - 3 : Travel to Cocos Island, Arrive to Cocos Island, diving begins.
Day 4 - 9 : Eat, Sleep & Dive in Cocos Island
Day 9 - 10: Travel back to Puntarenas.
Day 11 : Check out at 7 am and transfer to San Jose Airport or host hotels.

You will be diving in water that averages 72 - 82F / 22 - 28C with cool thermoclines. A 5mm wetsuit is recommended year round.

The Okeanos Aggressor I® & Okeanos Aggressor II® depart from Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Boarding and departure depends on the tide schedule. Immediately after boarding for our Costa Rica liveaboard scuba diving adventure, the yacht departs for its 36 hour crossing to Cocos Island.

There are multiple dives throughout the day for an average of 21 dives on 10 night charters. No night diving is currently offered at Cocos Island.

Guests will be met by a representative in uniform at the Park Inn by Radisson San Jose on the day of departure at a pre-set time for the group transfer. The pick-up and boarding time schedule is available in our "Know Before You Go" document and below in the "Departure Schedule" link. Boarding depends on the tide schedule. Immediately after boarding the yacht departs for its crossing to Cocos Island to prepare for diving Monday morning.

After a full seven days of diving, the yachts return back to the dock in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Check-out is Tuesday morning at 7:30 am. Transportation is provided back to the host hotels or San Jose (SJO) airport from the yacht at the end of the charter. Book flights after 12:30 pm


Cocos Top Dive Sites

Alcyone A 600’ long submerged mountain, the top of the mountain is 75’ from the surface. Schooling Hammerheads, Mantas and schooling fish. Possible Sailfish or Marlin.

Big Dos Amigos This islet features a 45-foot-high arch and 60-foot pinnacle off the southeast side. Look for Rainbow Runners, Yellowtail Snapper, Bigeye Jacks and lobster. Hammerheads swim between the pinnacle and arch.

Bird Island, Chatham Bay Dove from Chatham Bay, southeast of Manuelita, this site provides a variety of marine life including Frog Fish, lobsters, morays, rays, White Tip Sharks and Hammerheads. There is even a cleaning station.

Dirty Rock A large island with schools of Marble Rays and Hammerheads.

Lone Stone Schooling Marble Rays and Mobula Rays.

Manuelita The northeast corner has asheer wall. Lots of White Tips, Marble Rays and schools of Creoles.

Special Sightings Whale Sharks, mating Eagle Rays, Sail Fish, mating White Tip Sharks, False Killer Whales.

Ubing Rock, Wafer Bay This 300’ rock begins at 20’ and drops to a 110’ sandy bottom. The southeast slope attracts schooling Hammerheads.


Local Fees/Taxes

Cocos Island Park Fee (10 night charters): $490 for diver, $350 for non-diver, plus 13% government tax may be paid in cash or by credit card (with a fee) Cocos Island Emergency Evacuation Plan: $30

Starting April 1, 2022 a fuel surcharge of $200 pp will be collected at the end of the trip.

Prices are USD. Costa Rica residents/locals 65 years and older do not pay the above referenced government tax.

Useful information

Cocos Island

Period : Liveaboards trips is possible year round. August to September are the most popular months. And June to July are said to hold the promise of both calm seas and a good chance to see the big creatures.

Visa's : Most nationalities are allowed to stay in Costa Rica for either 30 or 90 days without a visa. However, please contact the embassy or consulate nearest you for more information.

Climat : Tropical moist climate all year round – Wet from July to October, Dry from November through May.

Water : Average temperature is 25°C - 27°C/77F - 80F, although it can be a few degrees lower under the occasional thermocline.

Clothing : Casual and cool cotton attire while on board. Nights can be chilly and/or drizzly so bringing a sweater, light jacket or windbreaker is recommended.

Plugs : Electrical Plug Type A & B (American Standard), 120V @ 60Hz

Flights : Guest can fly to Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) which is located close to the cities Alajuela, Heredia and the capital San José.

  • Connecting the airport with cities such as: Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, Chicago, Newark, Toronto, Montreal, Madrid, Frankfurt, Mexico City, Bogotá, Medellín, Caracas, Lima, Guayaquil, Quito and all Central America.
  • There is a USD 32 exit fee at the Juan Santamaría Airport. This must be paid in cash.

Currency : Local currency is Costa Rican Colón (CRC), other currencies can be easily changed at banks. ATM's are available and Credit Cards are widely accepted. Liveaboards prefer on-board payments in USD.

Nous voilà rentrés il y a peu des îles cocos. Nous avons passé une superbe expérience à bord de ce bateau. Le crew était très sympathique, la nourriture très bonne. Au niveau de la plongée, nous en faisions 3 par jour mis à part 2 jours où l'on en a fait 4. Je trouve qu'il serait bien d'avancer toute les plongées du matin car la 3e plongée n'était malheureusement jamais très intéressante car plus rien à voir...Les sites de plongée était parfois un peu répétitif. Je trouve qu'il est dommage de ne pas appliquer les règles de sécurité expliquée au début car une des personnes à bord a bloquer 3 ordinateurs, dépassé la profondeur prévue au nitrox et celle-ci a pu continuer à plonger, malgré son inconscience. Mais autrement, ce fut super, nous en gardons un super souvenir et surtout nous y retournerions volontiers mais un peu plus tard pour qu'il y ait encore plus de requins marteaux!

Fantastica! Il tesoro non è nelll'isola, ma sotto l' isola. Sebbene le immersioni siano molto impegnative causa correnti e condizioni meteo marine, la bellezza , la vita, i pesci (soprattutto squali), meritano un viaggio lontano e costoso, da fare almeno una volta nella vita. N..b.. Per chi non lo sapesse questa è l'isola in cui R.L . Stevenson ha ambientato il romanzo "l'isola del tesoro"

Nous voila rentrés depuis un peu plus d'une semaine... Voici un petit retour de notre voyage (dans le désordre): Points positifs: - On est supers supers supers contents de nos plongées! Nous avons vu ce que nous étions allés chercher, à savoir les bancs de marteaux... - L'équipe du wind dancer est vraiment très agréable - La nourriture était TRES bonne - L'organisation était bien rodée mais laissait place à quelques modifs pour satisfaire tout le monde... Points "négatifs" (car il faut bien être objectif): - La réglementation a encore changé et nous n'avons fait que 2 plongées de nuit au lieu des 3 prévues et indiquées sur le document "know before you go" - Un des deux dive master était occupé à 100% des plongées avec un photographe professionnel qui était à bord et nous avons donc fait une plongée sur deux avec le capitaine du bateau qui était plus intéressé par prendre ses photos que par autre chose.. - La cabine master que nous avions choisi n'avait pas vraiment d'avantage (en tout cas pas ceux auxquels nous nous attendions): pas de hublot et surtout étonnamment bruyante car au dessus du générateur et surtout avec une clim ultra puissante et non réglable......... Au final, le bilan est très positif et nous avons bien l'intention de repartir le plus vite possible . A bientôt, Subaquatiquement, Cécile
