Description

Boat

Blue Manta is possibly the largest purpose-built BKI CLASS dive vessel in the region. Measuring 45m (148 ft) by 9m (29ft), cruise at 10 knots. It is fully equipped to take guests on a fascinating diving adventure in the magical waters of Indonesia. 

Blue Manta is built with thick steel designed to withstand the hardest sea conditions, offering the stability wooden boats cannot. It is a world class cruising hotel, dependable for comfort, convenience and a stress-free dive holiday.

There is a outdoor alfresco dining area located on the upper deck, as well as a large indoor dining area at teh main deck. On the Blue Manta, guests will start the day with freshly baked breads. With no less than 5 meals a day, guests will be filled and satisfied with an extensive range of treats for everyone's taste buds.

Blue Manta features a cozy indoor air-conditioned salon on the main deck, adjacent to the indoor dining area, with comfortable sofa sitting, lounge tables, as well as a large TV, DVD player, music system, and an assortment of movies and indoor games... Perfect onboard ambiance of a luxurious dive holiday.

Blue Manta also provide the high crew and guest ratio ensures attentive, outstanding and personalised service. With a total of 22 crew members working onboard, but only 18 guests onboard, Blue Manta are committed to your comfort and enjoyment.

For UW photographers, the boat is also equipped with camera-friendly facilities, which including : Individual Rinse Tanks, Wide Outdoor Work Table, Indoor Dry Camera Room, Blow-dry Stations etc. Designed for the most avid underwater photographers.

Blue Manta also can provided Wi-Fi, which is connected via Satellite and with 24/7 Wi-Fi connection, so you can be connected with your family and friends anytime, anywhere.


Cabin

Blue Manta has 14 beautifully furnished en-suite cabins, in regular trips, it can host 20 guests :

For charter booking, it can host up to max. 22 guests. All cabins are average 20sqm in size.

All cabins have individually controlled AC, speakers, fire, smoke alarms and an ample closet plus lots of storage space.

Itineraries

Raja Ampat 10D/9N (30 dives)

Day 1. (0-1 dives) : 3pm our staff will meet you upon your arrival to Sorong Airport or local hotel and transfer you to the awaiting Blue Manta. Arrivals before midday are best so we can make check dive at Red Light District (Lampu Merah) just outside Sorong before we get underway by 3pm for overnight sail.

Day 2. (4 dives) : Daram island area

Day 3. (4 dives) : Misool - Wayil area with its beautiful lagoon for boat tour and super dives.

Day 4 (4 dives) : Misool - Fiabacet & Boo area

Day 5. (3 dives) : Misool - Balubulol & Farondi area plus possible snorkeling in Jellyfish lake. Sail to overnight to Central & North Raja Ampat.

Day 6. (4 dives) : Pianemu area, including famous Melissa’s Garden and stunning View Point hike.

Day 7. (4 dives) : Manta ridge & Dampier Strait

Day 8. (4 dives) : Kri area, including Big Fish, Cape Kri, Sardine Run, & excellent night dive.

Day 9. (2 dives) : Misokon island, including Blue Magic & Yellow Fever. Sail back to Usahamina pier, Sorong where you spend last night on board. Plenty of time to wash & dry equipment, have lunch, rest & relaxation.

Day 10. (0 dives) : 5am-12pm. Check out after light breakfast & farewells, we transfer to local hotel or airport. Departure from Sorong to Manado/ Makassar/ Jakarta/ Denpasar.


Komodo 8D/7N (30 dives)

Day 1. (1-2 dives) : 3pm. Our staff will meet you upon your arrival to Komodo Airport or local hotel and transfer you to Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time, we do check dive(s) at Bidadari and night dive at Pulau Sebayor.

Day 2. (4 dives) : South Komodo; Manta Alley to fly with mantas, Cannibal Rock, Torpedo Alley at Nusa Kode.

Day 3. (3-4 dives) : South Komodo, Padar Island; one of our favourite regions in the park with some stunning and diverse dive sites such as 3 Sisters and Pillarsteen. Plus, visit to Pink Beach.

Day 4. (4 dives) : North Komodo; Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, & Shot Gun at Gili Lawa Laut. Pinnacles, drift dives full of action with hunting fish; jacks & sharks!

Day 5. (4 dives) : North Komodo; Tatawa Besar & Kecil, Siaba Kecil, & Wainilu. Tons of Anthias, Napoleon wrasse, sharks, & excellent night dive.

Day 6. (4 dives) : North Komodo; Batu Balong & Mantas on the Moon (Makassar Reef)

Day 7. (2 dives) : North Komodo; Siaba Bay plus Mawan or Pengah. This followed by a walk on the wide side in search of Komodo Dragons, and trekking on one of the local Islands. Then we sail towards Labuan Bajo, where you spend last night on Blue Manta in Bajo Port.

Day 8. (0 dives) : 5am-12pm; Check out after light breakfast & farewells, we transfer to local hotel or airport in time for Check-in & flight. Take your pre-booked flight from Labuan Bajo to Bali.


The Forgotten island 10D/9N (26 dives)

Day 1. (0-2 dives) : 2pm. Our staff will meet you upon your arrival to Pattimura Airport, Ambon or local hotel and transfer you to the awaiting Blue Manta. Arrivals before midday are best so we can make check dive(s) in Ambon Bay before we get underway by 2pm for overnight sail.

Day 2. (3 dives) : Saparua & Nusa Laut with its pristine corals. Sail overnight to Banda Islands.

Day 3-4. (3 dives x2 days) : Diving around Banda Islands with excellent visibility, fantastic coral coverage and tremendous numbers of fish along with potential Hammerhead sightings, plus a visit to one of the Spice Islands.

Day 5-8. (3 dives x4 days) : Ring of Fire; diving around Volcanic Islands and stunning seamounts in search of hammerheads, encounter many sea snakes, huge schools of fish, reef sharks, tunas, & other pelagic superstars.

Day 9. (2 dives) : Hukurila Cave & Molana. Sail back to Ambon where you spend last night on board. Plenty of time to wash & dry equipment, rest & relaxation, and if need be, an early flight on Trip Departure day.

Day 10. (0 dives) : 5am-12pm. Check out after light breakfast & farewells, we transfer to local hotel or airport. Take your pre-booked flight to Ujung Pandang (aka Makassar), Jakarta or Singapore

Note: 3 dives are scheduled per diving day. This is due to deeper dives and long distances covered between islands. Where possible a bonus night dive may be scheduled at the discretion of the Cruise Leader. Except Trip Departure day & Trip Return day.

Useful information

Alor

Best time for diving
April to November, as this is when both visibility and weather are at their best, while September is the best time to spot Mola Mola. The currents usually are strongest in October and November, making conditions more challenging. From late December until early March, Alor is usually considered as off-season due to the rainy season.

About temperatures
Air : winter months are between 26°C - 29°C, summer months are between 27°C - 32°C.
Sea : between 25°C - 27°C from March to April & October to November, between 27°C - 30°C from May to September. Thermoclines are common year round, the water can drop at times to 22°C or lower.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 5 mm full wetsuit. If you get cold easily, we recommend also bring gloves and a hood, or even a 7 mm full wetsuit.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels of diver from beginners to experienced. However, in the open blue, the current can be strong at times, so divers should to be comfortable with their skills. Embarkation / Disembarkation
Alor liveaboard trips are usually from Maumere to Maumere, guests need to fly to Maumere airport (MOF).
However, some liveaboards often combine Alor with other destinations like Komodo, Banda Sea, Raja Ampat. Then you might only need to arrive or depart from Maumere.

Visa Requirements
Indonesia offers a free visa on arrival service for many nationalities which allows visitors to stay in the country for up to 30 days. A list of countries that are eligible for visa on arrival can be found on the Indonesian Government's Directorate General of Immigration.

Komodo

Best time for diving
May to October, the weather in Komodo is at its best between April and November. During the wet season (December to March) the weather can get a bit windy, with heavy quick rains, sometimes can cause rough surface conditions. However, liveaboards run trips here year-round.

The visibility in the North is excellent at 30 meters or even more, while it ranges between 10-15 meters in the South.
Some dive sites can have significant currents, whirlpools and see downdrafts. Sea conditions might change very quickly. Other dive sites are more quiet and rich in macro, especially in the South.

About temperatures
Air : range between 23°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : in the North Komodo it can be around 26°C -27°C, while it gets colder towards the south where it can drop down to 22 ° C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 5 mm full wetsuit throughout the year for Komodo area.

Diver requirement
Intermediate to Advanced level, A good level in diving and some experience in drift diving are recommended to participate to Komodo cruise.

Most of the embarkation / disembarkation will be in Labuan Bajo (LBJ).
Unless the trip is from Bali - Komodo, then the embarkation can be in Bali (DPS).

Banda Sea

Best time for diving
October to November & March to April, the seas are generally calmer during these months and in October to November there is higher chance to see hammerhead sharks. From May to August the surface conditions can get quite rough.

The visibility is generally good to excellent in Banda Sea areas, except in Ambon bay and in other bays for critter dives. Currents are low to moderate on most of the sites, however, strong currents may occur at times.

About temperatures
Air : range between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : range between 26°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 - 5 mm full wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
The embarkation / disembarkation can be in Ambon (AMQ), Kaimana (KNG), Maumere (MOF), Sorong (SOQ), Waisai (RJM), Saumalaki (SXK) etc. As some of the Banda Sea trip will combine with other destinations like Raja Ampat, Halmahera, Triton Bay. Raja Ampat

Best time for diving
Mid October to April, the wind then picks up in May until the end of August, causing rougher seas and this means Misool area in the south will be shut from June to September. From July until September the diving in the north still can be enjoyable. The visibility can vary from 10 - 30 meters, current can be from mild to strong at times.

About temperatures
Air : fairly constant between 25°C - 31°C year-round.
Sea : it is warm all year round, about 27°C - 31°C

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm full wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Most of the embarkation / disembarkation will be in Sorong (SOQ).
Few liveaboards also departs from Waisai (RJM).
The easiest to fly through to & from Sorong (SOQ) via Jakarta (CGK), Makassar (UPG), Bali (DPS), or Manado (MDC).
