Boat
Betel Gueser is a professional dive yacht running by a French liveaboard operator. In order to provide its best condition, it keep refurbished annually. Size 36 meters in length and 8 meters in beam, cruise at 9.5 knots.
Betel Gueser has an air-conditioned saloon located on the main deck, with plasma TV, DVD, music system, small library of movies and books for entertainment. In the air-conditioned saloon you can enjoy the TV and selection of videos.
The dining area is adjacent to the saloon in a separate area, guests will be served with delisous meals three times a day in buffet style, which contiains Egyptian tranditional meal, western dishes, and international cuisines. And there is another plasma TV in the dining area as well.
Betel Gueser has two large sun decks invite guests to relax : chat with friends, take a sun bath, look at the ocean view...
The dive deck is spacious and well equipped with personal gear boxes and an in-place fill station, two camera storage areas, large rinse tanks, 2 Bauer Compressors and 1 Nitrox Membran Compressor, as well as freshwater showers. There are 2 speed boats on board that used for diving.
Betel Gueser will provide FREE NITROX for certified Nitrox divers during the whole crusie, complete full set of diving equipments are available for rent onboard.
Cabin
Betel Gueser offers 11 comfortable guests cabins, and it can welcome up to 22 guests in total:
All cabins are air-conditioned and equipped with ensuite bathroom, TV, mini fridge, sidetable, storage area, warm blanket, electrical outlet and other cabin facilities.
2 Double Bed Cabins:
Located on the upper deck, each with one double bed, seaview windows.
2 Twin Cabins：
Located at the upper deck, equipped with 2 single beds, seaview windows.
1 Double Cabin：
Located at the lower deck, equipped with one double bed, portholes.
6 Twin Cabins：
Located at the lower deck, equipped with 2 single beds, portholes.
Diving
- Usually offer 3 dives per day, about 16 dives per week
- No night dives are allowed in the Egyptian Marine Parks
- Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.
- No dives on the day of embarkation and disembarkation.
- All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.
- Divers should be AOW with at least 50 logged dives,

Itineraries
Sample Itinerary - B.D.E:
PLEASE NOTE the itinerary below is an example of the planned route and dive sites cannot be guaranteed. All dives sites are subject to weather conditions and the final route taken is at the absolute discretion of the captain and dive guides. Adverse weather can affect this route which includes several overnight sailings.
This itinerary can depart from and arrive to either Port Ghalib or Hurghada, which will influence the order of the itinerary and the dive sites available at the start and end of the week. Please note that ports are subject to change.
Day 1 - Check in onboard.
Day 2 - Visit dive sites local to your departure port for three dives (a check dive, practice zodiac dive and night dive) before heading out to the marine parks.
Days 3-7 - We normally plan to spend a day each at Big Brother, Small Brother, Daedalus and the Elphinstone area.
Day 8 - After a week of drop-offs, enjoy two relaxed morning dives local to your arrival port allowing you to cruise into harbour in the early afternoon. Take advantage of an evening onshore to purchase souvenirs and enjoy Egypt's famous hospitality before your journey home the next day.
Brother Islands
The northernmost part of Egypt's offshore marine park is made up of two islands 60km away from the coast and 140km south from Hurghada. The larger island (complete with a lighthouse from 1883) is 400 metre long with a spectacular plateau on the south east corner which is dotted with coral mountains and famous for thresher and grey reef shark sightings. The western side of the island has two impressive wrecks which both lie almost vertical on the side of the reef. The most spectacular is the Numidia, a large cargo steamer which sank in 1901 and now lies on the tip of the island between 10 and 80 metres covered in soft corals and frequented by large pelagic predators. The smaller wreck of the Aida (sitting between 30 and 65 metres) was a lighthouse authority supply vessel which sank in bad weather in 1957.
The smaller island, whilst only a little over 200 metres long, hosts an incredible concentration and variety of marine life. There is a pristine fan coral forest, a massive collection of hard and soft corals and compelling overhangs to explore. The highlight is the fish life; with regular seasonal sightings of hammerhead, thresher, grey reef and oceanic whitetip sharks.
Daedalus
This huge tear-drop shaped reef rises from the sea bed in the middle of the Red Sea, 80km offshore and more than 300km south of Hurghada. Easily recognised by its zebra-striped lighthouse, this reef offers some of the most amazing dives in the Red Sea. The sheer walls are covered in over-grown hard coral formations and a variety of reef fish. Napoleon wrasses and turtles are often cruising by, but make sure you keep your eyes open on the blue! Daedalus is one of those places where anything can happen... oceanic white tip, grey reef and thresher sharks are often sighted, but Daedalus is most famous for its scalloped hammerhead sharks which can often be seen in large schools out in the blue during the summer months. The sheer size of this reef means that you can do several dives here and never get bored!
Elphinstone Reef
A Red Sea legend; a finger shaped reef, with north and south plateaus covered in hard and soft corals, unpredictable and exciting this truly is an awesome reef where hammerhead sharks are regularly spotted in the summer and oceanic whitetip sharks often congregate in large numbers during late autumn.

Useful information
Egypt
Best time for diving
March to May & September to October, however, Egypt can be good for scuba diving any time of the year. The whale shark season occurs from the end of May until the end of July in the northern Red Sea. The plankton blooms bring manta rays in to feed from May to August. From May to July, there is a higher chance to spot schooling of hammerheads in Daedalus, then the hammerheads move to Jackson Reef from July to September. And the turtle nesting season also happens from late May to early July. The Thresher Shark can be best spotted in winter. Grey reef sharks, dolphins, and dugongs can be spotted year-round.
About temperatures
Air : winter months are between 18°C - 25°C, summer months are between 32°C - 40°C.
Sea : winter months are between 20°C - 24°C, summer months are between 27°C - 30°C.
Wetsuit Recommendation
In the winter months, a 5 - 7 mm full wetsuit is recommended. In summer months a rash vest or 3 mm shorty wetsuit is recommended.
Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels depending on which route you are heading to. We do recommend a minimum of 30 logged dives with AOW or equivalent level to enjoy the dives in Egypt.

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Depending on which route you are heading to, the embarkation and disembarkation can be from Hurghada (HRG), Marsa Alam (RMF), or Sharm El Sheikh (SSH).
Visa Requirements
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Egypt’s international airports. If you opt for a visa on arrival, you’ll need a passport that’s valid for at least six months from your arrival date, a travel itinerary, and documentation to prove accommodation or any booked tours.
Vaccinations
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if traveling from a country with a risk of YF virus transmission and ≥9 months of age, including transit >12 hours in an airport located in a country with a risk of YF virus transmission. This includes Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, and Zambia.1 In the absence of a vaccination certificate, the person will be detained in quarantine for up to 6 days after departure from an area at risk of YF virus transmission. Money Matters
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP), and ATMs are common, especially in the main tourist areas. Major hotels will usually accept payment by credit card. However, smaller hotels may expect cash and hard currency payments (USD/EUR).
Drones
To bring a drone to Egypt and fly it, you need to receive permission from the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). If you do not have documentation of authorization, your drone will be confiscated at customs. However, getting permission to fly a drone from the CAA is difficult. Should you somehow manage to get your drone in, the onboarding screening will detect your drone and one of two things will happen: 1. your drone will be confiscated at the point of arrival and stored at the airport. 2. the drone will be detected and confiscated when you are leaving the country and you’ll be sanctioned for bringing an illegal commodity to Egypt. - So don't risk it, and leave your drone at home if you’re planning to travel to Egypt.
