Description
Boat
Carpe Novo is a 43 meters long, 11 meters wide professional dive liveaboard built in 2016, It has the latest marine equipment to ensure the safety and comfort, It is diesel-powered, cruise at 12 knots and have 220-volt power onboard.
Carpe Novo has a large air-conditioned lounge and leisure area on the main deck. There is TV viewing area with full HF media player and stereo music system.
Outside of the lounge area there is another sitting area in the shade with comfortable cushions. There are also a common restroom, a galley, and a dedicated camera room with charging station and tables located on the main deck.
The upper deck features a large dining area with comfortable lounge chairs, and provides access via an outside walkway to the front deck area.
From the upper deck restaurant area a staircase will lead you to the sun deck. On the sun deck you will find plenty of sun beds and a shaded sitting area, which is also excellent for having your sunset drinks.
Carpe Novo is also equipped with a wireless router providing internet connection (additional charges apply). Cellular phone and internet access is available when in proximity to some of the islands if your phone is so equipped. Internet cards and cellular phone cards are available for purchase at the airport.
All diving is done from a custom-designed 60 foot diving dhoni (tender). The dhoni has ample space for all divers, cameras and gear. There are individual gear bins for each diver, separate camera and wetsuit rinse tanks and two hot-water showers aboard. Both the air and nitrox compressors are on the dhoni as well.
Cabin
Carpe Vita has 12 guest cabins, it can welcome 22 guests per trip :
All cabins have individually controlled AC, safety deposit boxes, wide flat screen TV connected to central media system, ensuite bathroom, hanging closet, desk, hair dryer. The electricity voltage on board is of 220V and the plugs are of multinational type
2 Junior Suites - Whale shark, Tiger shark :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin has a king size (200 x 200 cm) beds, upon request it can be separated in two single beds (90 x 200 cm), bathroom with sink dual cabinets and a spacious shower, lots of seaview windows.
2 Junior Suites - Hammerhead, Thresher shark :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin has a king size (200 x 200 cm) beds, bathroom with sink dual cabinets and a spacious shower, lots of seaview windows.
2 Single Suites - Eagle ray, Manta ray :
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with a queen size beds (150 x 200 cm), large windows.
4 Standard Cabins - Turtle, Dolphin, Barracuda, Napoleon :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with a queen size bed and a single bed side by side, portholes.
2 Standard Cabins - Octopus, Frog fish :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, portholes.
Diving
- 2 to 3 dives per day, 1 - 2 night dives per week.
- No dive on the embarkation and disembarkation day.
- Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.
- All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.

Itineraries
CLASSICAL ROUTING I (7 NIGHTS)
Atolls: North Male – Rasdhoo – Ari – Vaavu – South Male
Saturday: Male. Guests board vessel around 1 pm or 3 pm; welcome briefing, documents; check out dive.
Sunday: North Male 1 dive; Rasdhoo 2 dives. Approximately 3 hr crossing from North Male to Rasdhoo. Nights spent anchored.
Monday - Tuesday: Ari, 3 dives. Night anchored
Wednesday: Ari, 2 dives and cross to Vaavu for night dive.
Thursday: Vaavu, 2 dives and cross to South Male 1 dive.
Friday: South Male 2 dives maximum depending on guest flight schedules and the 24 hour requirement before flying and return to Male.
Saturday: Depart the vessel latest by 8 am. Due to the necessity of readying the vessel for our next cruise, we must strictly enforce this early departure.
CLASSICAL ROUTING II (7 NIGHTS)
Atolls: North Male – Ari – Meemu – Vaavu – South Male
Saturday: Male. Guests board vessel around 1 pm or 3 pm; welcome briefing, documents; check out dive.
Sunday: North Male, 2 dives; Ari, 1 dive. Approximately 3 hr crossing from North Male to Ari. Night spent anchored.

Our unique 10 or 11 night trips will be either starting from Male and ending all the way past the equator in Addu or the reverse, starting from Addu and ending in Male. Guests will require a domestic flight back after the trip from Gan (Addu) to Male airport or from Male airport to Gan to join the boat.
DEEP SOUTH SHARK ITINERARY II
Atolls: North Male – South Ari – Vaavu – Meemu – Thaa – Laamu – Huvadhoo (10 NIGHTS)
These routings take place during peak high season (February/March/April) when the currents are at its strongest and visibility at its best to enjoy the abundance of sharks the Maldives has to offer.
This trip will start in Male atoll after which we cruise to South Ari atoll, at the end of the trip you will fly back by domestic flight from Kooddoo airport to Male.
FAR NORTH EXPLORATION
Atolls: North Male – Lhaviyani – Noonu – Shaviyani – Haal Alif – Shaviyani – Raa – Baa – Ari – (Vaavu – South Male)(11 or 14 nights)
We have come up with a unique routing that nobody else is doing yet, starting and ending in Male to avoid domestic flights needed. Due to the additional distance we will cover there will be an extended cruise range surcharge and the minimum amount of nights needed to do this trip is 11 nights or more.
MANTA TRIP I
Atolls: North Male – South Male – Vaavu – Ari – Rasdhoo – Baa (7 nights)
The above 7 night routing is designed to be able to visit all the by manta frequented spots and lagoons including famous Hanifaru Bay in Baa atoll during the summer months (July/August/September/October). The trips are either ending or starting in Baa atoll, which means a one way domestic flight will be needed at the start or the end of the trip.
MANTA TRIP II
Atolls: North Male – Baa – Raa – Baa – Rasdhoo – Ari ( 7 nights)

Central Maldives
Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.
About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.
Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

North Maldives
Best time for diving
June to November, North Maldives offers great diving all year, especially in the Far North Atolls, you can expect sunny skies most of the year. And in Hanifaru Bay, each year during June to November is the famous cyclone feeding, which is a rare and spectacular event where over 100 manta rays can feed together and create a chain which the head of each manta ray touches the tail of the manta in front. This creates a huge spiral of up to 200 mantas along with their fellow plankton feeders the Whale Shark.

Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

December to April offers the best visibility and sea conditions. Although short spells of heavy rainfall can be experienced during the summer months, but this region do offer good diving all year round.

Air : range between 28°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.
Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.
Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.
