Boat

Giamani was built originally in 1998, in order to keep the best condition, it has been undergone for a few full refits in the past years. It is a 24 meter long, 6.5 meter wide steel liveaboard, built and powered for comfort, safety and stability, cruise at 8 knots an hour.

Giamani features a comfortable air conditioned salon with TV, DVD player with a library of films, CD/VCD Music system with music selection, a small marine book library, comfortable sofa area for relaxation.

There is also an outdoor dining area with cushioned relaxation area, TV, and a snack bar where meals are served buffet style. Food is plentiful and diverse, Thai cuisine and International dishes are served, special diets can be catered for if we know in advance.

Giamani has a spacious dive deck, originally designed for 22 divers to have ample room. But as it only takes up to 10 guests per trip, there are lots of rooms for everyone. The dive deck comes with camera table, personal gear boxes, in-place fill station, and rinse tanks. There are also two exit ladders and freshwater showers on the back of the dive deck.

Giamani can supports Technical diving with Rebreather SCR & CCR, Twin Set ups, Side mount. The boat crew are very experienced at working with technical divers as the boat spends five months every year running technical diving trips. They understand how most of the tech equipment works and also understand the different procedures necessary when diving with technical equipment.

If you require any special equipment please let us know in advance and we can normally arrange to have it available for you to rent. We can also arrange for all the special materials you need such as sorb for a rebreather unit.

Giamani also can provide special charter trips, and for charter group, guests even can built custom route, just let us know where you would like to visit, then we will plan it for you ;-)


Cabin

Giamani has 5 comfortable cabins, it can only host 10 guests per trip, perfect for small diving group.

All cabins have air conditioning, private ensuite bathroom, mini-fridge, wall fan, cupboard, windows.

1 Master cabin:
Located on the upper deck, 12 sqm, with one double bed, one additional sofa-bed/sitting area.

4 Deluxe cabins:
Located on the main deck, 8 sqm, with one double bed and one single bed (bunk style).


Diving

MV Giamani runs Thailand Diving Liveaboard Cruises all year round, with different Thailand Liveaboard itineraries between High Season (15 October to 15 May) and Summer Season (15 May to 15 October).

Koh Haa is an archipelago of 5 small islands (“Koh Haa” in Thai literally means “5 Islands”) located approximately 20 miles south of the notorious Phi Phi Islands. The islands offer a variety of great dive sites with crystal clear water and lively coral reefs. Hin Daeng & Hin Muang are two semi-submerged pinnacles in the open ocean further south, offering amazing reefs and even chances to spot Oceanic Mantas and Whale Sharks.


Phi Phi Islands | 3D/2N or 3D/3N

Period: Open all year round. Giamani cruises from 15 May to 15 Oct.

The popular Phi Phi Islands offer a large variety of beautiful dive sites accessible all year round. The coral reefs are very healthy with both soft and hard corals, and the landscapes outside of the water are simply breathtaking. South Andaman Sea

Best time for diving
Mid October - May is the optimum diving season on the Andaman coast (west coast). Thailand has a dry and a rainy season : it rains on the West coast during the Summer months (May- October) and on the East during the winter (October- May).

About temperatures
Air : throughout the year, temperatures range from 25°C to 34°C with April through May being the hottest month and January the coldest
Sea : between 27°C - 30°C year round, with May being the warmest and December being the coldest.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend 3 mm wetsuit year round.

Diver requirement

Embarkation / Disembarkation
The embarkation and disembarkation are in Phuket or Khao Lak, guest can fly in/out Phuket International Airport (HKT).
Transfer between Phuket Airport and Tap Lamu Pier (Khao Lak) is approximately 1 ½ - 2hr, depending on traffic.
Transfer between Phuket Airport and Chalong Pier is approximately 1 ½hrs, depending on traffic.

Visa Requirements
Many nationalities can visit Thailand without a visa under the Visa on Arrival rule or Visa Exemption scheme. These options allow visitors to stay for up to 30 or 45 days.

Similan Islands

Best time for diving
Mid-October - May is the optimum diving season on the Andaman coast (west coast). From early December until late April you can usually expect clear skies nearly every day. On average, you can expect 20 meters of visibility at The Similan Islands throughout the diving season.

Due to the likelihood of extreme weather during the monsoon months, the local authorities close the marine parks from May 16th until October 14th every year. Therefore the Similan diving season is from October 15th to May 15th.

About temperatures
Air: throughout the year, temperatures range from 25°C to 34°C with April through May being the hottest month and January the coldest
Sea: between 27°C - 29°C all year round, there are times when it drops to the mid or even low 20s, but in general these are rare or temporary occasions.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a 3 mm wetsuit year-round.
