Description

Boat

Jardines Aggressor I is a 34 metres long and 6.8 meters wide professional steel dive yacht, it was built and maintained to SOLAS shipping standards. It is diesel-powered, cruise at 10 knots and have 110-volt power onboard.

Jardines Aggressor I features a roomy, air conditioned salon and dining area, sun deck complete with a hot tub (Jacuzzi), lounge and deck chairs, stereo and CD player (has an IPod plug-in), shaded wet bar and grill, a complete photo center with a digital video and still photo editing computer.

The spacious dining area and galley are located on the upper deck, chefs onboard will offer guests delicious meals in various styles from appetizer to dessert all with love: Continental Italian cuisine with delicious seafood and traditional Cuban favorites like rice and beans, black bean soup and fried bananas. Lobster is our specialty and is served in a variety of ways. For those who like something different, chicken, pork and beef are also available. Salads and different fruits are served in every meal. Desserts feature our famous Cuban caramel custard, rhum-flavored cakes, cookies, puddings, pies and many others. Vegetarian and kosher meals are served on request with many different choices available.

Jardines Aggressor I's beverages selection includes fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, coffee, and a limited selection of local beer and wine, which are complimentary. Due to the high duty charged on liquor, we suggest you bring your special brand from the U.S. or last duty free point. Due to local regulations; the bar will be closed while the boat is in port. Drinking and diving do not mix. Once you consume alcohol, you become a snorkeler until the next day.

The boat features a sizable lower prep deck with plenty of space to store your equipment and get ready for the day of diving. The maneuverability on this boat is incredible and you will find there is no lack of space on board.

Diving amenities include Nitrox (must be prepaid), individual dive lockers, camera table with low-pressure air hoses, and two hot, fresh water showers. There is ample storage space for your diving equipment in your personal locker. The stern and platform area is very spacious. The boarding ladders were designed for convenience to allow divers easy entries and exits.


Cabin

Jardines Aggressor I has 10 comfortable guest staterooms, it can accommodate up to 20 guests per trip:

All cabins have ensuite bathroom, A/C, comfortable beds, electricity plugs - european /american sockets (220 volts and 110 volts ), as well as plenty of space for the storage.

2 Master Cabins (#9 & #10) :
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with 2 single beds side by side (35 x 74 inches), that can be made into a queen bed (70 x 74 inches), private bathroom and picture window.

7 Deluxe Cabins (#2 - #8) :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two twin beds (side by side, 32 x 74 inches), private bathroom and portholes.

1 Deluxe Cabins (#1) :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two twin beds (side by side, 44 x 75 inches + 36 x 74 inches), private bathroom and portholes.


Diving

  • Usually 18 dives per week, include 1 night dive / week.

  • Only 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.

  • No dive provided on the day of arrival and departure.

  • All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.

Itineraries

Walls of Zapata, Bay of Pigs

Cuba Travel Program I: 8 days/7 nights (Sat – Sat)

A representative will assist with transportatation from Havana, Varadero or Santa Clara airports to Playa Largo where the Jardines Aggressor I is located and where your Zapata, Bay of Pigs adventure starts. There is a per person rate that must be prepaid and reserved in advance. During the week, divers will spend a week exploring and learning about this magnificent biosphere reserve.

Havana - Jose Marti International Airport (HAV)

The Jardines Aggressor I® liveaboard operates out of Zapata, Cuba. Guests arriving on Saturday early afternoon may be greeted at one of these airports; Havana International Airport, Varadero or Santa Clara (reservations through Aggressor Adventures are required) Airport transfers are not included and must be reserved and paid prior to traveling. Guests should board mid afternoon until dinner.

For anyone who has a delayed flight and does not make the transfer will need to make their own way to the Jardines Aggressor I. It is important the boat if you are making your own way to notify the Jardines Aggressor I. Everyone must be onboard by 9 pm.

Disembarkation transfer Saturday morning back to Havana José Martí International Airport at 7:30 am (approximately 3 hours).


Sample Itinerary

airport Havana José Martí International Airport (HAV) between 10:45am - 3:30pm, relax at the Hotel Paseo, The pick up from Hotel Paseo to the Jardines Aggressor I is between 4 pm and 5 pm. Then there is a 3 hour drive to Playa Larga where the Jardines Aggressor I is located.

Day 2 - Day 6 :
Enjoy 5 1/2 days diving and conservation program with marine experts in the Bay of Pigs.

Day 7:
After 2 dives the Jardines Aggressor I will return to port where guests will enjoy a cocktail party then dinner onboard.

Day 8 :
Morning travelers will have a continental breakfast then depart at 7:30 am for an approximate 3hrs bus ride back to the Havana José Airport International Airport.
Most airlines require a minimum of a 2-hour check-in prior to the flight.


Diving Conditions

You will be diving in water that averages 82°F in the summer months and approximately 78°F in the winter months. Most guests make as many as 4 dives each day and 2 on Friday, so some sort of protection is needed. A 1-3mm wetsuit or shorty is recommended year round, however some people prefer a 5mm in January/February. All diving is from tenders.

The crew of the Jardines Aggressor I with their unique combination of talents, offers the ultimate service. While onboard, you may pick a buddy of your choice, or dive with one of the crewmembers. The yacht offers up to five dives per day including night dives and 2 on the last day.

All diving onboard the Jardines Aggressor I should be within the limits and standards of the training agency that certified you. All dives should be planned, no decompression dives.


IMMIGRATION UPON ARRIVAL

Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, a return airline ticket and the verification letter from Oceans For Youth Foundation to travel to Cuba. Travelers must have a passport that is valid for 6 months from date of entry.

US citizens may go to the US Department of State website at www.travel.state.gov for more information. The website also has information for consulates by country to assist with requirements. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement. Our Reservation Office and staff cannot assume responsibility for passengers not having correct documentation.

Your Passport details must be current and exactly the same as the OFAC Letter at the time of travel.

Useful information

Gardens of the Queen

Period : Liveaboards run trips year round. The ocean that surrounds Cuba is full of little unexplored reefs where grouper and sharks are resident and visible all year. Visibility is always between 30m-40m.

Visa's : Tourist who travel to Cuba need to get the appropriate visa called Tourist Card and a valid passport having 6 months validy after the return tiket. Depending on your nationality, have a check online with the representative Cuban Embassy or consulate.

Climate: the climate of Cuba is semitropical or temperate. The average minimum temperature is 21° C (70° F ), the average maximum 27° C (81° F ). The trade winds and sea breezes make coastal areas more habitable. Cuba has a rainy season from May to October.

Water: The temperature of water varies in the limits of 24°-28°S during the year, the coldest conditions are encountered in the winter months from December until February.

Flights: Main air gates of Cuba International Airport named of Jose Marti (HAV) is located near Havana. From Havana there are different Taxi and land tour offered at the arrival.

Currency: In Cuba two currencies are used - nonconvertible (CUP) and converted (CUC) Cuban of peso. Cuban currency is NOT traded internationally, so you can’t buy it in advance and have to convert once your arrived.

Clothing: On diving liveaboard is ideal to carry light air clothing, which also proposes protection from the tropical sun; for the cooler or rainier evenings you can also pack a jumper and light raincoat.

Plugs: Joints of the type A/B/C/L, 110V, 60Hz. In the majority of hotels and onboard the liveaboards you will find either 110V or 220V so be aware before plugging our electrics.
