Boat

Aqua Cat is a huge 31 meters long and 10 meters wide liveaboard catamaran, it was built back in 2001. In 2017 it has being completely refitted. It offering guests a leisurely liveaboard scuba diving and snorkelling adventure in the Bahamas.

On the upper deck there is a spacious indoor lounge with dining area and entertainment area. The entertainment area is well equipped with sofa seats, TV, DVD player with blue ray and old movies, books and a ship boutique where guests can get some small suvenirs to bring back home.

The chef will provide three gourmet meals a day, snacks and fresh fruits are always available. Most meals will be a combination of Bahamian and American cuisine. A selection of complimentary beverages is always on hand: from soft drinks, juices and lemonade, to beer, wine and rum drinks. All meals, beverages/bar and snacks are included!

Aqua Cat also have a roomy outdoor lounge area (Alfresco deck) on the upper deck, a great place to relax and socialise after the whole day of activities. There are three outdoor tables with seating, BBQ equipment and hammocks for relax. For those seeking to top up their tans may head for the sun deck, there are many sun loungers, also has a beverage area dispenses soft drinks, beer taps, two icemakers and bar stools.

Aqua Cat's dive deck is located on the back of the main deck, it provides photo station with large work area and three shelves for camera storage, a charging station with US outlets - 110v & 220v outlets for battery charging, two fresh water rinse tanks and hoses, two enclosed deck showers, one toilet with sink, deck showers with hot & cold water by each dive ladder.

Cabin

Aqua Cat provides 11 comfortable guest cabins, it can accommodate from 22 to 30 guests per trip :

All cabins have suite bathroom with hair dryer, individually controlled air-conditioners, carpeted floors, storage space, US outlets for 120 volts.

Port and starboard oceanview cabins have two large windows with shades. Cabin 11 has a skylight with a shade.

2 Twin/Quad Cabins (Cabin No.1 & No.2) :
Located on the main deck, room size about 10.5 sqm, each cabin comes with two twin beds with two pull downs to accommodate up to 4 guests.

2 Twin/Triple Cabins (Cabin No.3 & No.4) :
Located on the main deck, room size about 10.5 sqm, each cabin comes with two twin beds with one pull down to accommodate up to 3 guests.

4 Twin/Double Cabins (Cabin No.5 - No.8) :
Located on the main deck, room size about 10.5 sqm, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, it can be configured as one king-size double bed.

2 Family Cabins (Cabin No.9 & No.10.) :
Located on the main deck, room size about 12.5 sqm, each cabin comes one queen-size double bed and a extra single bed, can accommodate up to 3 guests.

1 Skylight Cabin (Cabin No.11.) : Located on the main deck, room size about 6 sqm, this cabin has twin bunk beds, it has a skylight with a shade.

Diving

• 4 - 5 dives per day, aim for 26 dives per week.
• Only 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.
• No dive provided on the day of arrival and departure.
• All divings are self-guided, guide only led the shark dive.

Sample Itinerary

Departs from : Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), Boarding at 6:00pm
Returns to : Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), Disembark at 9:00am

Itineraries are weather dependent and tailored to best diving available each trip.

Day 1 - Saturday:
6:00pm board. Check in, dinner, unpack, orientation and safety briefing.

Day 2 - Sunday:
Depart before first light; offering 4 daytime dives and 1 night dive today.

Day 3 to Day 5 - Monday through Wednesday:
4 daytime dives and 1 night dive per day/night in the Exuma Cays and/or Eleuthera. Shore excursions are offered daily.

Day 6 - Thursday:
4 daytime dives Captain’s Dinner with photo and video presentations; awards presented during dessert.

Day 7 - Friday:
2 daytime dives.
Return to Nassau 2:00-5:00pm depending on weather and travel distance.
6:00pm Farewell Cocktail Party.
Port night in Nassau! Dinner on your own. The evening is yours to enjoy in Nassau.

Day 8 - Saturday:
Disembark vessel by 9:00am.

Aqua Cat departs Nassau on a course for the Exuma Cays. We plan our week as we go so we can offer you the best diving conditions based on the weather. We’ll explore the northern Exumas and south end of Eleuthera most weeks. On a daily basis, the itinerary includes up to 5 dives per day and eco adventures like snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and stand up paddle boarding. Along the way so you can experience the wonderful Central Bahamas above and below the waterline.

The Exuma Cays offers many opportunities to go ashore and explore and enjoy the uninhabited beaches. For these occasions, we highly recommend proper footwear for these eco adventures. Flip flops are not always suitable. We suggest water shoes or TEVA type sandals. Sneakers are fine but they might get wet!

Bahamas Ground Transfers: You can take a taxi which will cost $35.00 to $40.00 or we can arrange transfers. For each pick-up, the cost is $18.00 per person one-way. You can book transfers by going to Ground Transfers. If you book transfers, you will find Mr Wright just outside the airport (by the railing). He will be holding a sign with the boat name on it. If you don’t see Mr. Wright immediately, ask anyone to point him out for you or you can reach him at 242.449.7862. Be sure to double check that you are on the right bus/van! No credit for missed transfers.

Boarding & Disembark Time: For flight planning, boarding is at 6:00pm on Saturday. We offer a welcome orientation, dinner and an important safety briefing immediately afterwards. It is important that you attend this informative meeting! Please plan your flights accordingly. If you are arriving earlier in the day, you may drop bags off at the boat prior to boarding. The Aqua Cat will depart Nassau early Sunday morning for the Exuma Cays – usually before 5:00am.

The Aqua Cat returns to Nassau the following Friday afternoon. Dinner ashore in Nassau is on your own Friday evening. All passengers must disembark on Saturday by 9:00am. You may leave your bags at the boat if you have a late afternoon flight and are welcome to use the showers and restroom on the dive deck.

Diving Guides: In general all the divings are not guided dives in the Exuma Itinerary. All divings are self-guided. Most buddy teams choose to dive on their own. The instructors/divemasters on board will give you a good in-depth briefing before each dive describing the topography, conditions, the current (if any), depth and it will include a visual aid. If you would like navigational assistance, please advise the instructor that you would like to follow him/her prior to the dive.

Side Mount & Rebreather: Side mount diving is possible as each guest is assigned a dive position that holds two tanks. You can dive either single side mount or double side mount.

We can provide you with a cylinder of oxygen with prior arrangements. However, you must bring everything you need to fill your rebreather as we cannot supply it for you. The cylinder of O2 is $80.00 dollars and there is no credit for unused gas.
