When is the best time to dive in Red Sea?
If you don’t like “cold” water, avoid coming in December, January and February! If you don’t like very hot weather, try to avoid June, July and August. For the creatures of the sea, the seasons are: Oceanic Whitetip Sharks (Longimanus) are best visible from October to January however it is possible to spot them year round in places like Elphinstone reef. The best season for Hammerhead Sharks runs from June to September. Your best chances to spot a Whale Shark run from May to the end of July and mostly in North Red Sea. The Thresher Shark can be best spotted in Autumn and Winter mostly on offshore reefs like the Brothers or Daedalus reef.

Are there any legal regulation I should know about?
According to Egyptian law:
1.Night diving is strictly prohibited in the four offshore Marine Parks of The Brothers, Zarbagad, Daedalus and Rocky. One must have a minimum of 50 logged dives to dive these sites as well.

2.Diver should use a dive computer and carry a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB). In cases of buddy pairs, at least one torch should be brought even on morning dives.

3.Divers should possess medical certification of fitness to dive aside from diving accident insurance. Medical certificate should have been issued less than one year before the start of the trip.

What should I bring with me?
Definitely you should take a sun cream and sunglasses. Egyptian sun is really strong. But from the other site it is very windy on the board so a wind jacket or warm sweater are recommended as well.

Is there phone reception/email on board?
WIFI can be used onboard and is free of charge. It will be available wherever is a signal for mobile phones. Please note that the Egyptian internet and mobile phone connection is not like European standard and the access will be limited (mainly available when the boat is closer to land).

Visa Requirements
Guests need two Egyptian Visa entries, one upon your arrival at the Airport, and the other one upon your arrival back from the Sudan trip. The first Egyptian entry visa you can get on arrival at the International airport. The second one will be arranged & paid onboard. For the Sudan entry Visa, most of the liveaboards will organize for you in advance before arrival to Port Sudan and will be issued & stamped on your passport upon our arrival to Port Sudan.
