Description

Boat

Marselia Star is a 37 meters long, 8.2 meters wide Steel dive yacht, originally built in 2010, it had a complete renovation in 2017 and following an annual update. It is a yacht designed to obtain maximum satisfaction from traveling to the Maldives.

Marselia Star has an airconditioned restaurant and bar serving european, asian and local dishes on the mian deck, it's also the entertainment area with library, indoor games, stereos and TV, DVD-player.

The upper deck is a semi-shaded Sun deck with bar, sofas, chairs and tables for drinks, while the top sundeck is also semi-shaded with sun beds and Jacuzzi.

Marselia Star serve three meals per day, variety of international and Asian cuisine all the meals are served in buffet style. There is a full service bar where you can select from a list of wines, beers, variety of spirits and soft drinks with extra charge.

Marselia Star provides diving from the dive dhoni boat, which provide comfort and function at the same time. All the equipment stay in the dive dhoni (compressors, tanks etc.) in order to keep the noise away from the main boat when filling the tanks.


Cabin

Marselia Star has 11 guest cabins (others are for crew use), it can accommodate up to 22 guests :

All cabins are airconditioned, equipped with minibar, safe and ensuite bathroom.

2 Seaview Suites :
Located on the upper deck, each cabin comes a kingsize double bed, a sofa bed, TV and bathrooms equipped with shower jacuzzi, seaview windows.

1 Superior Suite :
Located on the lower deck, this cabin comes with one kingsize double bed, bathroom with shower, portholes.

1 Deluxe Cabin :
Located on the main deck, this cabin comes with two single beds side by side, bathroom with shower, seaviw windows.

2 Standard Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, this cabin comes with one queensize double bed, bathroom with shower, portholes.

5 Standard Cabins :
Located on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, bathroom with shower, portholes.


Diving

Itineraries

Classic Central Route

Classic route of diving-safari on Maldives. The most popular and very saturated goes under the Whale-Shark sign. In Ari atoll there are the maximum possibility to see the biggest fish in the world.

The route starts from the North Mali of atoll, where famous dive-sites are located. They have a lot of inhabitants: turtles, murens, cleaner-fish. Because of them, several dive-sights became a giant manta cleaning station. Next, transition from North Mali atoll. During the transition, there are a big possibility to meet a group on dolphins.

In Ari atoll, there are many dive-site in canals, where the ocean stream draws bigger fish. Here you will see a grey reef and silvertip sharks, different stingrays, tunas, barracudas. Also there are some of manta-points. On the south end of Ari atoll, there are a whale-shark. You can meet her on snorkeling and diving.

On Waavu (Felidhe) the most popular dive-site is Alimatha Jetty. This place is for night diving with unbelievable amount of nurse-sharks and stingrays. In the canal you have an ability to meet grey reef sharks, a flocks of barracudas, tunas and scads. The final atoll of South Mali, where the most beautiful dive-site of all South Mali is located. Diverse landscape, which shape looks like a droplet, with the coral plateau at a depth of 16 meters. Here you will meet eagle stingrays and green turtles.

South route

This route is taking place only 2 times in one season: in the beginning of feburary and in the end of march. This 10 days tour is highly saturated. You will visit central atolls with already known dive-sites. You will meet faraway islands of Maldives, where small amount of resorts and a lot of unexplored islands with untouched reefs. The main dive-sites are canals (candu), where a lot of huge fish dwells: grey reef sharks, white-nose sharks, tunas, barracudas, different stingrays, mants and whale sharks, which will come and visit you! For this, the lights turn on right on the night parking. Firstly, a plankton comes in, and after him a whale shark swims near. Also, the immersion into a Foamulla atoll will be organized during the tour ( consist of only one island), where the tiger sharks dive-site located, so you will have an opportunity to see them underwater. But if you lucky enough, you will see a moon fish.

Deep South Route

On this route, yacht will be on the most southern part of Maldives that doesn't explored till the end, but its already popular. Wild places with big amount of desert islands and scared fish. On Gaafu, Addu atolls and Foamula there are plenty on dive-sites with big amount of grey reef sharks, variety of tunas, barracudas, Jack-fish, mants and stingrays. Also, on the deep south there are a couple of dive-sites with coral gardens, where the green turtles are dwelling.

Behind the Genemanafushi island in the deep there is a possibility to meet a group of hammer sharks. But the most interesting in this route is the fact that you can meet a tiger shark, which doesn't dwell in the central atolls of Maldives archipelago. Many visitors already saw this wonderful place - Foamula, and met a couple of tiger sharks, which are one of the most dangerous sharks. This ability adds some adrenaline for all lovers of adventures. In these parts, a new amazing fish was found, which is called moon fish. If it's possible, you might meet her in one of the immersions. On the route, the night parking with spotlights was provided to draw attention of whale sharks and mants.

Central Maldives

Best time for diving
December to April, Central Maldives is suitable for diving year-round, these months are the Northeast dry season, and it's the time for best visibility and weather condition.
The visibility range between 20 - 40 meters year-round. And the currents are usually mild to intermediate. Diving depth range from 10 - 40 meters.

About temperatures
Air : range between 27°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 28°C - 30°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for all levels, but to enjoy the best out of it, we recommend an AOW level with 30 dives.

Visa Requirements
A 30 days tourist visa is granted for all nationalities on arrival to Maldives. This period of stay is not for the visitor to claim, but lies at the discretion of the Maldives Immigration to grant any number of days less than or equal to 30. Please refer to Maldives Tourist Visa for details.

Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over the age of 9 months arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (Rf), all liveaboards accept cash payments in USD or EUR.
Most travel-related costs will be billed in the major global currencies such as USD, EUR, as well as credit cards. The ATMs will only provide cash in Maldivian Rufiyaa.

Drones
Flying a drone is legal in the Maldives, but we recommend being aware of and compliant with the drone regulations. Please check Maldives Civil Aviation Authority for details.

South Maldives

Best time for diving
December to April offers the best visibility and sea conditions. Although short spells of heavy rainfall can be experienced during the summer months, but this region do offer good diving all year round.

About temperatures
Air : range between 28°C - 32°C year-round.
Sea : very stable and warm, range from 27°C - 29°C year-round.

Wetsuit Recommendation
We recommend a dive Skin or 3 mm wetsuit throughout the year.

Diver requirement
Suitable for divers have AOW level with good drift diving experience, as there can be strong currents in the channels surrounding the islands.

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Most of the embarkation / disembarkation for South Maldives cruise (Meemu atoll, Thaa atoll, Felidhoo atoll) will be in Malé, guests need to fly in/out to Velana International Airport (MLE).

For the Deep South Atolls (Laamu atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll, Huvadhoo atoll, Fuvahmulah, Addu atoll), domestic flights are usually required to Addu atoll (GAN), Gaafu Alifu atoll (GKK), Huvadhoo atoll (KDM) or Fuvahmulah (FVM). Longer trips like 2 weeks might depart or return to Male.
