Description

Boat

Andromeda is a deluxe standard dive liveaboard that built based on a unique design, meeting divers’ every need, it is 40 meters in length and 8 meters in width, with 2 diesel 1150HP engines, and all international standard navigation system and safety system. It cruises at 10 - 12 knots per hour, onboard, it provide 220-volt power.

Andromeda has an indoor European Salon which is air-conditioned and well equipped with an LCD TV, VCR, DVD and CD player and furnished according to European style. There is also a lovely shisha room that follows the original Oriental coffee shop design with shisha (waterpipe) smoking possibility, coffee, tea and original Arabic music.

There is a covered open deck in front of the salon, a comfortable open but covered area for resting and chatting between dives and in the evening. The top sundeck is 100sqm in size, provides plenty of space for sun seekers, as well as shaded area, with omfortable deck chairs and cushioned seats make time more pleasant. There is a smaller sun deck in front of the captain’s bridge as well.

The large dive deck and dive platform area ensures more-than-adequate space for divers preparing for their next plunge into the Red Sea. 2 hand-held showers on the platform allow for a rinse after diving or snorkeling. A bathroom with shower and marine head leads directly off the dive deck.


Cabin

Andromeda has 13 tastefully decorated guest cabins, it can accommodate up to 26 guests per trip:

All cabins are air-conditioned and have en-suite bathroom, storage place.

1 Suite Cabin :
Located on the main deck, this cabin is the largest cabin onboard, with a big rounded double bed, seaview windows.

2 Deluxe Double Cabins :
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with one double bed, seaview windows.

2 Deluxe Twin Cabins :
Located on the main deck, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, seaview windows.

8 Standard Twin Cabins :
Locatd on the lower deck, each cabin comes with two single beds side by side, portholes.


Diving

  • 3 dives per day + alternating additional sunset/night dives.

  • No night dives are allowed in the Marine Parks (B.D.E)

  • Only 1 - 2 dives will be provided on the last diving day.

  • No dive provided on the day of arrival and departure.

  • All diving will provide experienced guide to lead the dive.

Visa : Port Sudan can be reached via Cairo or Dubai. There must not be stamps or visas from Isreal in the passports. Carrying alcohol and pornographic/erotic materials into the country is prohibited.

Taxes and fees : The Sudanese taxes are payable in advance along with the safari rates. The Sudanese visa fee is payable in USD in cash (the exact amount) onboard upon arrival. (Only cash payments are accepted.)


Smoking
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the cabins, in the diningroom and in the salon. Please use the ashtrays and make sure to put out all cigarette butts completely. It is forbidden to throw cigarettes and cigarette butts into the sea.

Last Night Accommodation
The last night for Egypt safaris may be spent in a hotel if necessary because of the itinerary of the following tour.

Egypt

Period : Liveaboards run trips year round, with the high season being from March to November.

Visa's : All visitors to Egypt need an entry Visa to enter Egypt. For many nationalities visa can be purchased on arrival in Cairo or Hurghada for 25 USD. However, please check with the appropriate consulate to ensure you have the proper documentations.

Climat : The climate of the Marsa Alam and Hurghada have a subtropical desert climate with mild warm winters and hot summers.

  • Day Temperature: Summer time 33C/ 91F - Winter time 21C/69F
  • Night Temperature: Summer time 26C/78F - Winter time 17C/62F

Water : the average Water temps in the summer months you can expect 27°- 29°C/ 80°- 84°F, while in the winter months the temps can drop down to 23C/ 74°F.

Clothing : Dress accordingly to the seasons, light clothes in summer, and warmer clothes for the cooler winters.Please plan to travel light, as on all live-aboard dive yachts, space is limited.

Plugs : Type C electrical plugs (Europe standard) 220V @ 50Hz

Flights : Many international flights arrive directly from Europe and Asia to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh International Airports.

Currency : Local currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP), other currencies can be easily changed at banks or money changers, and international ATM's are available. Credit Cards (Mastercard/ Visa) are widely accepted.


Sudan

Period : Liveaboards run trips year round, with the high season being from November to March. Southern route trips are only done in the the spring and fall.

Visa's : Almost citizens from all countries require a visa to enter Sudan. It is advisable to obtain a Sudanese visa in your home country before arrival if possible. Please contact the Sudanese consulate nearest you for more updated information.

Climat : The climate of the Red Sea subtropical savannah, with mild warm winters and hot summers. Temperatures average between 26 and 32°C in summer, and up to 43°C on the Red Sea coast. Winter temperatures average between 13 and 21°C.

Water : Water temps vary throughout the year, in the summer months you can expect at least 27°C waters, while in the winter months temps can drop down to 23°C.

Clothing : Dress accordingly to the seasons, light clothes in summer, ad warmer clothes for the cooler winters.

Plugs : Type C & D electrical plugs (Europe standard) 230V @ 50Hz

Flights : Khartoum Airport (KRT) is the main gateway into Sudan by air. There are also some international flights which use Port Sudan airport.

Currency : Local currency is the Sudanese pound (SDG), Bring only foreign CASH into Sudan, preferably US Dollars. Travellers cheques, credit cards and ATMs are NOT accepted in Sudan, partly because of the US embargo.

Замечательная лодка. Единственная в своём роде из-за комнаты для курения кальяна. Единственно, что хочется там улучшить, так это снабжение кают тёплой водой. Очень внимательное отношение к дайверам со стороны экипажа. Продуманый маршрут дайва, практически исключалась работа против течения. Отношение к безопасности самое серьёзное.
